I did some googling for Boston - Looks like there is a single postoffice in whole of New england ( me,nh,vt,ma,ct,ri) which is open 24 hrs and accepts mail 24 hrs... Here is the address...

My lawer was very firm in getting the employment letter. And I know one of my close friend couldn't apply for his 485 because he had problem in getting his employment letter from HR because of location issue. Without which the company lawer refused to file 485 and he suggested to apply for new labor again for his new location. After waiting for 7 years Poor guy is now applying his labor again with same company. What a sad story.....

The original intent of country caps was to prevent one single country from monopolizing the immigration (but this was regular unskilled immigration like family based immigration etc). But when it comes to skill based immigration it is ridiculous to maintain country caps. Everybody including the US government, USCIS and industry know that country caps in skilled category are ridiculous. That is why in H1B they don’t enforce the country caps. Because if they enforce the country caps in H1b the whole H1 program will collapse. I know the difference between h1 and green cards but when you bring people into US on H1 without country caps they should not enforce country caps on H1 to green cards skilled category. The people who are oppose immigration are using this(the country cap or rather quota) as an excuse to make things worse for immigrantion.

Perhaps your number is not based on legal immigration. It might reach this number if you add up the illegal ones, and that is why the gov. is building the walls to stop them enter at borders and try to find the illegal ones and send them out.

Can you point to any USCIS memo/documents stating the above facts? I was out of status in the year 2001 (more than 180 days).
This is not based on any memo. Its in the immigration and nationality act. That is even better because it wont change without an act of congress. Its rock solid. Memos and field manual can be changed by USCIS and they dont need change in laws. To change or edit 245(k), you need change in laws, which needs an act of congress. So the whole thing is on rock solid grounds.
The section is 8 USC � 1255 (k). Also known as 245(k).
Here is how to find the text of 245(k) on USCIS website:
1. Go to USCIS.gov
2. Go to "Laws and Regulations" menu item on top menu.
3. Click on "Immigration and Nationality Act" on the left menu.
4. Click on the link that says "Immigration and Nationality Act" below the 2 paragraph lecture.
5. Scroll down to Chapter 5 and go to "Act 245". DONT GO to "Act 245A".

These days, I don't ever leave home without my EAD card, if I am going anywhere within driving distance of where I live. If I fly, I usually carry my passport as well (not sure if that is any good since I am on AOS exclusively, but I do).

Hi,
You can surely do so, and that too at your own convenience, that is until you get the project with your second employer you need not bother with leaving the first job. H1 Visa does not come in effect until you move to other employer's payroll.
What I write.. I know for a fact, you may still want to check for any latest changes with attorney or some one in legal world.

Please mention details of your issue since most of members here are either in the labor black hole or under EB retrogression waiting to file for I 485. If you know something and if its WIDESPREAD and affects almost all applicants, please mention it here in details. We can include that in our agenda so that we dont have to fight for those issues when we do file for 485 in the future.

I think Nixtor should explain why he even bothered to call Mr. Foggs' number. There are many many people in this forum with incorrect phone numbers. Why nixtor is not banning all of them. There is even a member with handle 'taliban'.

count me in.... but we should also include not just this but also Flexibility of all and any one who is on H1 and H4. immeterial of they in EB2 or EB3. All one is required is Flexibility ...
Flexibility to leave the current job and go join a college without worrying about status
Flexibility to take a vacation for a month to visit places and friends without worrying about nex project
Flexibility to change employers and get a better position and offer
Flexibility to work in position you deserve..rather than rot in the same job profile b'cos your GC process is pending
Flexibility to invent and develop ideas and work on itself rathar than work for some company which undermines, underpays those ideas and inventions

understandably so.. but I am now current after a looooong time. EB3 Dec 2001 PD. I can finally file the AOS for my wife who has been on H4 for the last 2 yrs... excellent!

I did not find any section specificcaly about ending EB or ending H1B , the only reference to H1b is in SEC. 1403. that is for fashion models:
