It always depends on how much gaming you want to do, cuz let's face it, a 2006 Powerbook can run Excel or Word just fine for class.
If it must be portable, then you should get a 13" MBP and use the saved money to upgrade it to a SATA 3 SSD. It's nice to get a top 15", but I don't think you will do enough to get your money's worth out of the CPU/GPU (unless you game alot or do heavy video editing).

No, but bug fixes and stuff are never a bad thing :)

Sorry for jumping in, but...
I'm also new to all this kind of thing and have no knowledge of home networking at all really!
I currently have a MBP 15" i7 and a DP PowerMac G5 (that I'm still using as my desktop), my son will soon be getting a Mac Mini and I'm (slowly) saving money for a Mac Pro!
My questions are... Could I still use the G5 as some kind of server for the rest of the macs in the house, what would I need to install and what benefits would I get from doing this?

The second plan probably would work, but you'll have two separate wireless networks.
If you go the second route, I'd just disable wireless on the Linksys and let the Expresses handle wireless.
Thanks, and yes, using the sole Airport as only Wifi provider (along with the second Airport, of course) was the plan and leave the linksys only for wired ethernet routing.

It could mean that, or it could mean they just haven't updated the graphite versions of the buttons/loading bars/etc yet. I would love to see them offer more color options, but I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being just blue and graphite again. :o
I hope they offer more color options, especially for the sidebar icons. I'm not loving the iTunes 10 UI.

So were getting wifi on nanos and classics! That sounds better than the radio feature. Maybe wireless syncing finally?
I don't think this wifi radio will happen on the ipods, your limited to the hotspots coverage, not so on-the-go. More useful for iphones that are always online.

If it's not a Dreamweaver template (which I'm 99% sure it is) then it is simply a Macromedia.com rip-off (in terms of design).

Yes, you are right, it is a dreamweaver template. I'm working right now on a new layout but I wanted to get the site up and running again so I took the quick and easy route in the meantime. Either way, I think macromedia's design is a great starter.

Bah Flash is so 2004. Learn something like PHP, some Javascript and learn to leverage the XMLHttpRequest object and you'll find you don't need Flash. ;)

This may sound totally obvious, but spend time on YouTube. There are a lot of folks people your age doing cool stuff and putting it on YouTube (Lucas Cruikshank aka "Fred" being one obvious, and rather obnoxious, example). Not all of it is good, and some of it is frankly terrible, but you quickly get a sense of what's cool and what's not (for example, YouTube seems to have popularized the disjointed jump cut.) You can take inspiration from the stuff that's done well, and learn from the bad stuff too by taking note of what they did wrong and how you would have done it differently.

The iPod touch bluetooth only works for headphones. There's no profile for anything else. Even if there was one, there's no user visible file system on the iPod Touch.

I have a weebee and i have a few problems with it.
#1 don't like how loud the velcro is.
#2 when there's no laptop in the bag, it's really uncomfortable to wear. has to have adequate weight in it to be comfortab.e
#3 There's something about the little handle on the bag that makes it awkward to carry that way.
It's really expensive but that's pretty much with any laptop bag that you buy (well except for the really ugly targus ones)

im getting pissed at sprint because their 3G plans suck total ass. they have not planned mac compatibility with ANY of their new phones, so they will soon be getting the axe from me. If apple doesnt come out with a new phone by mid2003, then I will by the Moto v600 which should be out by that time.

Literally bought the iPad edition for �11.99 an hour before reading this post and thought I'd droppped a bollock. If they do drop the iPad-version price i'll be so annoyed.
If thta happens in a retail shop - ie buy a t shirt and the next day it's lower in price - you can return it and get the discount back.....im guessing no such luck with an app, regardless of its price
