I have a Camo patterned lenscoat on my 300/2.8. I bought the Camo for two reasons; (1) to blend in with the natural surroundings around me, when shooting wildlife, and (2) because it doesn't absorb heat, like black does. What is the point of putting a black coat on a white lens??? Canon makes most of their zooms & tele's white, to help minimize heat issues. Another benefit of having a lenscoat, is that is does provide some protection to the body of the lens, but also prevents paint wear, which in turn helps minimize depreciation values, if one were to sell their lens.
I would suggest asking this question on the FM General Discussion board. You will get many more specific answers to your questions, as there is a lot more traffic there, and there are numerous members who own & use lenscoat products. In response to the statement about fitting, the coat on my 300, fits perfectly. There is some slight movement here & there, but for the most part all the different pieces stay in their respective places. Also, I would strongly advise against putting any type of tape on your lenses, except for Gaffer's tape. I utilize Gaffer's tape in a few strategic areas, but I have never wrapped any of my lenses or hoods in any type of tape.

I think I will be making it to the Ardmore store. I have never been to a launch there. I was hoping to get there at 3:30 ish too. I am hoping for a WiFi 64 GB one, with an orange cover. We shale see, this will be my first launch day event since Leopard came out, and that wasn't bad at all.

The stuff used on the heatsink is NOT an adhesive. It is just a compound that maximises the heat transfers between CPU and heatsink. The heatsink MUST be held down with the screws.
From the looks of it, you've either got a damaged bottom case (screw mount knocked off) or a bottom case for the wrong model (slightly different fittings).
Is the missing screws and the compound thats causing the "error restart message" when i load the desktop? How do I get the compound to reattach it on the CPU?

i've generated my password file w/ the htpasswd command.
my .htaccess file looks like this:
AuthUserFile /Users/zim/Sites/.htpasswd
AuthName ByPassword
AuthType Basic
Require valid-user
i've removed index.html from ~/Sites. when i browse to http://127.0.0.1/~zim, i get a directory listing, but no user/password challenge.
this is my first foray into apache. i've made no changes to the default install (i'm on osx 10.2.6). here's some apache info:

Server version: Apache/1.3.27 (Darwin)
Server built: 01/15/03 19:22:17
Server's Module Magic Number: 19990320:13

Premiere will use the other cores, but for me i'd rather 4/6 cores with a higher clock speed and the matrox compressHD card, than a more expensive 8/12 core machine, with lower clock speed and no budget left for the compress card.
I understand. I'm honestly thinking of purchasing an iMac (after the refresh). I'll add the maximum amount of Ram (or atleast 16GB) and get the best processor from the Apple Website. I think that will be the best option for me. If I become unhappy, I'll sell my iMac or return it within the 30 Day Mark.

How do I give out these invites... I know people who would appreciate it....

Yes, I did. But I listed the item as "as-is" with no returns. Is there any way the buyer can get around this?
I wouldn't think so because he accepted the terms of the deal when he bid. It's a legal contract, but call eBay to find out for sure.

The color inconsistency may have to do with your browser and PS not using colorspaces properly.
He probably has color management turned on, and when he loads the images into the browser the colors are different. The solution would be to turn color management off in Photoshop.
Another issue might be that he is using blending modes for his rollovers that get lost when the image is flattened.

I like the desktop threads in the picture gallery because it's interesting to see how other people have Mac configured, and now I'm curious about their iTunes libraries.
I'm a huge iTunes freak. Every single note in my metadata needs to be organized and filled out. My album artwork has been individually inserted, along with any additional "radio single" artwork for the additional songs. And consider that I have 6,703 songs, you pretty much have an idea of what I do on my time off. :)
Composers for me was pretty much a useless label because almost each song had an individual array, so I simplified it to the following list: Albums, Compilations, Music Videos, and Other. Other is anything that isn't an official album, like a CD single or something. It looks very pretty checking out the "albums" section and only seeing official releases instead of bootlegs, live albums, EP's, etc.
Genres is something else I have simplified, and I hope I get to see somebody's input on this because I really hope to change it. My list is as follows: Books & Spoken, Electronic, Experimental, Hip Hop/Rap, Pop, Rock. That's it. Has anybody else found themselves in a conflict where you don't know where an artist goes? Alternative can be such a confusing label because you don't know whether to put it under Alternative, Folk, Punk, or Rock. So I just simplified it and placed artists under those general genres. However, I don't like it, and I'm going to make a more diverse set of genres.
Also, do you use Groupings? How do you personally organize them?
So... share your stuff! I'm interested in seeing what people have their library configured like.
